Seoda: Treasures from the Irish Film Archive ( 1948-1970) is a double disc DVD collection of eleven extraordinary short Irish films which have been carefully selected from thousands preserved in the Irish Film Archive for their cultural, historical and entertainment value. This collection presents a fascinating kaleidoscope of ordinary and extraordinary moments in Irish life from the 1940s to the 1970s and allows viewers to experience some of the highlights of the Archives unique and valuable collection. Introduced by legendary actor Niall Toibin, the films cover a broad range of topics chosen to give audiences a nostalgic but also enlightening look at this fascinating period of recent Irish history. Seoda allows viewers to : travel alongside President Kennedy during his 1963 visit to Ireland, take the last tram from Howth in the company of Cyril Cusack, contrast the bustle of 1950s Dublin with tranquillity of the Cork village of Crookhaven and enjoy the ceoil agus craic of the 1967 fleadh in Kilrush, County Clare.
